Dog Days Baseball Downloads

If you are a old owner having trouble updating in-game, download this minimum Dog Days folder and then copy all the .dat files into your existing ddb.lg folder, overwriting the outdated .dat files.

If you are a new owner, or if you need to download the Dog Days folder from scratch:
1. First, be sure your game is patched up to date. 2. Then download this minimum Dog Days folder. Unzip it to:
My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 9\data\saved_games
3. Change the name of the folder to ddb.lg
4. Start OOTP 9, and open the ddb league. You will see your name as owner, and you should use the password I emailed to you.
5. You will need to download player pics and images separately. The zipped folder is here. This is much larger -- about 129MB zipped. The entire folder should be unzipped into saved_games\ddb.lg\news\html -- You will need to restart the league in order to see the logos and pics.

If you are on this page because you are a new owner, a few things that need to be remembered:
* Check your finances. Don't make trades or release players without understanding the financial implications. If your team finances look discouraging, talk things over with me.
* When you first begin, I suggest immediately doing an export by ftp, and then emailing me to be sure I received it... A couple new owners spent long periods of time adjusting their roster, and found out later there was some problem with the ftp function, thereby losing all their work -- not a fun way to start a new league.
* Be sure to register on the forums. That is the main method of communicating information in this league. One small snag with the new forums -- you will need to email me with your forum name, to be sure it gets activated. It is best to use your team logo as your avatar; you can get the logos here.
* All times posted are Eastern time -- Eastern Standard during the winter, Eastern Daylight Savings during the summer.
* I try to keep the calendar page up-to-date, but in general we sim early in the morning Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sundays during the season and almost every day in the off season. * It is really a good idea to read through the DDB rules page completely. But the main things to know as you get started:
1) We have a system for ammy draft sandwich picks as compensation for the best players lost to free agency. This is figured outside the game engine.
2) Don't offer a player a contract (extensions for own players or free agents) without checking the limits on the use of options and incentives.
3) Every city has a built in advantage. Be sure you know yours: Bottom of this page

For anyone who is interested, here is the OOTP6.5 file as of 4/1/69.
